Part of our mandate as an organization is to give back to the community and help educate and promote our local food system here in Kamloops and the surround area. Proceeds from our annual Grazing Events are given back as grants that will be open to the public to apply for. The grants are issued on an annual basis and are available to non-profit and for profit organizations.
We donated $2000 to the Canadian Mental Health Association with the proceeds from the last several years of Grazing Events, which they will use to buy food preservation equipment to use in their programming! CMHA teaches their clients how to preserve and cook food, taking advantage of a lot of fruit from the Gleaning Abundance Program.
